Going All In: From Teacher to TED Talk with Angela Teeple
On this episode of Grit Won’t Quit, host Tom welcomes Angela Teeple, founder of All In Personal and Professional Development Co., to share her remarkable journey of leaving behind a stable 20+ year teaching career to follow her passion for inspiring others. Angela’s story is a masterclass in grit, resilience, and the courage to pivot when life calls for change.
Leaving the Classroom Behind
For over two decades, Angela was a dedicated teacher and coach at Monmouth Regional High School. While she loved connecting with students and athletes, she began to feel the weight of burnout and the limitations of the classroom setting. Choosing to step away from the security of a steady paycheck, Angela initially thought her next chapter would be in the food industry—first with a healthy café concept and later by considering her family’s ice cream business.
But neither venture aligned with the deeper calling she felt: to motivate, encourage, and empower people on a larger scale.
The Birth of “All In”
Angela’s defining trait has always been her ability to throw herself completely into whatever she does. Out of that energy, All In was born—first as an apparel company featuring motivational messages for athletes and teams, then as a nonprofit focused on mindset and resilience. But through trial, error, and soul-searching, Angela realized the movement was much bigger than T-shirts or fundraising.
“All In” evolved into a personal and professional development company—a platform where Angela could combine her love of teaching, coaching, and public speaking to inspire individuals, teams, and organizations.
Embracing Grit and Growth
Her journey wasn’t without obstacles. Angela candidly shares that she once pushed herself so hard to prove her worth after leaving teaching that it affected her mental health. That hard lesson taught her that being “All In” doesn’t mean going a thousand miles an hour without pause—it means committing fully to yourself first, finding balance, and then showing up fully for others.
Along the way, she delivered a TED Talk on resilience, wrote her book Rise Up and Soar Above the Storms, and began coaching athletes, parents, and coaches on building strong cultures and mindsets. Through workshops, ambassador programs, and one-on-one coaching, Angela’s message continues to ripple outward: success requires grit, pivots, and the courage to define life on your own terms.
A Movement, Not Just a Business
Today, Angela sees All In as more than just a company. It’s a movement that helps others step into their own purpose, whether that’s on the field, in business, or in everyday life. From leading leadership programs to mentoring student-athletes, she continues to expand her impact while staying true to her passion for education—on her own terms.
As Tom points out in the episode, entrepreneurship is not easy. It’s full of pivots, risks, and sacrifices. But Angela’s story is proof that when you lead with passion and purpose, the payoff isn’t just success—it’s fulfillment.
