In the latest episode of Grit Won’t Quit, Tom Mirabella sits down with Brian Pringle and Rich Falcone—two local legends in the making—who turned their passion for the water into a thriving business with Belmar Tiki Boat and The Golden Eagle Charter Boat. What started as a simple dream of bringing people together for unforgettable moments on the water has evolved into a beloved experience for locals and visitors alike.
Whether it’s a sunrise fishing trip or a floating dance party, Brian and Rich have created something special—anchored by grit, community, and good old-fashioned hospitality.
From Pandemic Pivot to Party Powerhouse
The idea for Belmar Tiki Boat was born in the unlikeliest of times—during the COVID shutdown. With party boats docked and no work in sight, Brian started noticing a trend: people wanted to be on the water, but they didn’t want to fish or go far offshore. They just wanted to kick back, sip a drink, and enjoy the vibes.
That’s when inspiration struck.
Instead of waiting for the tides to turn, Brian and Rich got to work, finding and customizing their first tiki boat—a 45-foot floating oasis. Fast forward to today, and they’re preparing to launch their third and fourth vessels in Brick and Toms River.
More Than Boats—It’s About People
What sets this business apart isn’t just the custom-built boats or the scenic Jersey Shore backdrops. It’s the experience. From bachelor parties to corporate team building, guests of all ages have one thing in common—they step off the boat smiling.
With capacity ranging from 35 to 45 people (and yes, each boat includes a bathroom—essential for a few hours on the water!), these private charters feel like a slice of vacation without ever leaving home. Add in a banging Bluetooth sound system, shaded seating, and BYO food and drinks, and you’ve got a recipe for the perfect day out.
As Rich puts it, “I’ve never had anyone get off the boat and say they had a bad time.”
Expanding Horizons with the Golden Eagle
While the Tiki Boats rule the river, Rich’s 100-foot Golden Eagle offers a different kind of adventure—big water cruises and ocean excursions that can hold up to 125 guests. Ideal for larger events or sunset sails out to Asbury Park or down to Seaside Heights, the Golden Eagle delivers versatility with the same friendly vibe.
Whether drifting on calm river waters or chasing fireworks out at sea, both businesses are built on the same mission: bringing people together.
Seasonal Grind, Year-Round Passion
Running a seasonal business is no small feat. From early morning prep to late-night cleanups, Brian and Rich hustle hard in the summer and innovate all winter. But they wouldn’t trade it for anything. For them, it’s not just a business—it’s a lifestyle.
And with new offerings like Sunday morning mimosa cruises, live music, and even football viewing parties on the boat, the duo keeps finding ways to elevate the experience.
