Christopher Howard: The Road to Success with Legacy Executive Transportation

From Corporate Layoffs to Limousine Success: The Grit-Fueled Journey of Christopher Howard

In this episode of Grit Won’t Quit, host Tom Mirabella sits down with Christopher Howard, owner of Legacy Executive Transportation and Bell Limousine, to uncover how grit, faith, and relentless hustle turned career setbacks into entrepreneurial success.

Taking Control After Corporate Layoffs

Christopher’s story begins with a familiar corporate struggle—layoffs. After facing round after round of uncertainty, he decided to take control of his future. “I threw everything out on faith and knew I had the hustle to do it,” he recalls. That leap of faith launched Legacy Executive Transportation less than two years ago, and today it has grown from one vehicle to a thriving fleet of twelve.

Building a Business on Customer Care

At the core of Christopher’s success is an unwavering commitment to customer service. From handwritten thank-you cards to 2:00 a.m. airport pickups, his focus has always been on making every client feel valued. “When they ride with Legacy, they’re not just a number,” he says. “They become family.”

This personal touch has paid off. Repeat business, referrals, and glowing Google reviews have become the foundation of his growth. In an industry where many companies turn their phones off at night, Christopher’s willingness to answer every call has set him apart.

Growing Through Acquisition and Community

Christopher recently acquired Bell Limousine, a company with over 30 years in business. The decision was equal parts exciting and nerve-wracking: “It’s like rebranding and rebuilding a company that already has a reputation.” But by leaning on his grit and building the right team, he’s managed to expand without losing his personal touch.

He also views competitors as collaborators. When faced with large jobs, Christopher often partners with other operators in the area, proving that cooperation can strengthen the entire industry.

Balancing Family, Staff, and Expansion

Running two companies comes with challenges, especially when balancing family life. Christopher credits his wife and children for their patience and support, along with his carefully chosen staff who share his values. He would rather be short-staffed than hire the wrong people, because trust and customer care are non-negotiable.

Looking ahead, Christopher has plans to expand into a neighboring city, pending the approval of an international airport. His focus remains clear: keep building while staying true to the personal, customer-first philosophy that fueled his growth.

Trusting Your Gut and Giving Back

One of Christopher’s biggest lessons for entrepreneurs is to trust your instincts. His decision to invest in a brand-new stretch limousine—when competitors were operating vehicles over 20 years old—was risky but proved to be a game-changer. “My gut said do it, and it’s been going nonstop ever since.”

Beyond business, Christopher makes it a priority to give back. From donating vehicles for charity galas to supporting local fundraisers, he believes in strengthening the community that supports him.

Final Thoughts

Christopher Howard’s story is a powerful reminder that entrepreneurship is not about avoiding risk, but about meeting it with resilience, vision, and heart. His journey from corporate layoffs to owning two thriving transportation companies is proof that grit doesn’t quit—it drives success.
